The Baltimore Humane Society’s biggest fundraiser, Dogfest will be held at the BHS in Reisterstown, 1601 Nicodemus Road (directions), 10 am to 4 pm. Buy your tickets before September 14 and save $5. Tickets online are $10 ($5 for children 12 and under); at the gate, $15. Sign up for the DogWalk and raise $50 in sponsorship for freem admission and a t-shirt.
Events include the walk, games, contests, swimming for your dog, demonstrations, and lots of food. Meet adoptable dogs, cats, and rescue groups. The Kids Kennel will include crafts, Moonbounce, Brick Bodies Obstacle Fitness course, Bubble Ball by BubbleBall MD, and the Irvine Nature Center Animal Program. Dogs can bowl a game of 10 pins, play hide ‘n seek, create paw paintings, run agility courses, and more. Contests for dogs include Best Kisser, Best Costume, and more–all judged by celebrities. Gates open at 10. Parking is free. The fundraising walk at 10 am follows a mile-long scenic path through the BHS wildlife sanctuary.
The BHS is a private, non-profit, no-kill shelter that receives no government funding.
