Baltimore’s tribute to the nation’s first President is looking great after an 18-month, $6 million renovation by the Mount Vernon Place Conservancy. Closed in 2010, the monument reopened July 4, 2015, 200 years after the laying of its original cornerstone.
Inside, visitors can enjoy the bust of the President, the centennial plaque and a gallery with touchscreen tours. It’s 227 marble steps to the top of the tower, but the view of Baltimore from 250 feet above sea level is well worth the climb! The facility is open Wednesday-Sunday 10am – 5pm (except Thanksgiving and Christmas Days). It is also open Wednesday evenings in August for evening events in the park squares
Plan to visit soon, during Groupon’s great offer:
- $7.25 for a visit for two ($12 value)
- $13.50 for a visit for four ($24 value)
